Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Warriors Group

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in power within the urban setting.

Note: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Strategists parties.

Viewers can expect discovering which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
